I was told this is a pigeon carrier, but it could be used for a cat or small dog. There is a wicker divider inside and wire across the front,16"high and 18"wide,14 1/2"deep one of the rope type hinge is missing and thin wire has replaced it, there is also another lid inside the top lid, at one time there were straps for something, but they are gone. Nice conversation piece.
