Sicily 

I have always been an animal lover and my husband and I had five dogs.  Up until this past Saturday, September 29th we become one short.  My husband was away on a river trip and I along with some friends wanted to take a walk and enjoy the beautiful full moon, my dog (German shorthair) was not about to let me out of the door and not take her.  We live in an area where there is no leash law and there are always animals running loose, she was accosted to running but she always kept an eye on us.  We were coming off of a dirt road onto the main street and she was just a couple feet away from me when some teenager going about 60 hit her.  I saw the whole thing, she hit her so hard we couldn't find her body.  When we finally found her I had the girl drive me to emergency vet, I am sad to say she died and was looking right at me.  I feel so terrible and there is such a huge void, if only we hadn't gone on a walk that night.  I had to tell my husband as this was his baby and needless to say he is absolutely devastated.  This teenager that hit her lives in my neighbor and she is aware of all the deer and other animals she was just not paying attention.  I miss Sicily and even tough she drove me up the wall at times I loved her with all of my heart.  I hope that somehow she can hear me and know how sorry I am, 7 years was to young. Sicily and I need to know that you are alright and that I will see you again.  Each teer that is cried is a teer that holds a special memory of you.  I love you! Your mom and dad
